House Majority Leader Statement on Passage of Education Funding Legislation

House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt (R-Salem) today offered the following statement in response to the House passing Senate Bill 183 by a vote of  210-116, education funding legislation.

“One of our goals at the beginning of this session was to restore fairness to education funding in New Hampshire.  This bill once and for all eliminates the practice of having the taxpayers of ‘donor’ towns subsidizing the state education grants of receiver towns.  Both the House and the Senate have worked extremely hard on this legislation resulting in a bill that takes the best of what both chambers had to offer, including predictability and continuity in education funding.”
