(November 4, 2013) - When trying to sell Obamacare to the American people, President Obama was famously quoted on several occasions saying something similar to the following quote, which you can watch here: "Let me be clear, if you like your doctor or healthcare provider, you can keep them. If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep that too."- President Obama, 2009
In recent days, several reports from the press have detailed countless stories of Americans having their current health insurance policies canceled. CBS News reported that more than two million Americans have been told they cannot renew their current insurance policies. In fact, these cancelation notices have soared above Obamacare enrollment rates. What is even more shocking is that it has also been reported from CNBC and others that the White House knew millions could not keep their plans under Obamacare. The Washington Post's Fact Check has even given the President the abysmal rating of "four Pinocchios," as a result of his blatantly untrue claims.
In addition, Forbes has now reported that it is likely for 93 million Americans (including those with employer sponsored plans) to have their health insurance plans canceled as a result of Obamacare.
On Sunday, the Union Leader reported on the anticipated release of our video today. They "asked Shea-Porter's office for a comment on [our] charge Friday, but did not receive one."
"Like President Obama, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter was willing to say anything to sell Obamacare to the American people. Once they forced the legislation into law, they then continued to make false claims and manipulate their constituents in order to protect their political careers. Contrary to untrue promises, countless Americans already have received, and millions more likely will be receiving, letters informing them that they will no longer be covered by their current insurance policy as a direct result of Obamacare.
"We know for certain that the White House was aware they were misleading Americans. Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire is now demanding answers from Rep. Carol Shea-Porter. Was she being deliberately deceitful by specifically saying that those covered by their 'employer' would not lose their insurance because she knew the fate of millions with individual plans once the law was implemented? Or, did she mean to promise, like President Obama untruthfully did, that Obamacare wouldn't force anyone, regardless if they had individual or employer coverage, to lose their current policy? Like the New Hampshire press, we await a response from our Congresswoman."
