TIDES/SOROS-funded foundations will testify pro-income tax

Thanks to the diligence of some others in our 'tea party', I have come across some disturbing information about one group that is going to testify IN SUPPORT OF AN INCOME TAX on Oct 21-22 at Susan Almy's 'tax summit'. (We have planned a press conference and demonstration both inside (silent) and outside.)

When you see who is behind this ITEP group, it should get you extremely angry -- enough to spread this word around far and wide to garner a crowd on that day, that outside influences, far outside NH, even have a say in this matter! (And they may not be the only ones...)

Thinking of how progressives in NH complain about 'outside influences' when state grassroots groups like CNHT or NHAC try to help people with local government, they seem to have no shame in inviting someone funded by these outside influences to help institute more redistribution of the wealth within the state.

Here is a link to their planned testimony IN SUPPORT OF INCOME TAXES:

http://www.itepnet.org/ITEP_Testimony_NH_HB_642.pdf

Look at where their funding comes from - namely Tides Foundation. Where have you heard of these people before? Yes this is the mother group funded by George Soros, same group that funds ACORN run by WADE RATHKE, that you have heard so much about in the news.

Also funded by the Ben and Jerry Foundation, National Education Foundation, Public Welfare Foundation, Streisand Foundation...the list is long.

Look at their Board of Directors - Robert Reich (Brandeis University), Dean Tipps (SEIU), more college professors...

Look at their links page -- all leftist/progressive groups:

And here is the list of funding sources including TIDES and ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATIONS as well as Soros' "Open Society Institute":

Ben and Jerry Foundation

The Century Fund

Coydog Foundation

East Bay Community Foundation

Ford Foundation

The Schumann Foundation

Stern Family Fund

Stoneman Family Fund

Streisand Foundation

The Shefa Fund

Tides Foundation <---ALSO SOROS FUNDED, FUNDS ACORN - linked to Wade Rathke

Vanguard Family Fund

So there you have it. When groups like CNHT or NHAC help out with spending caps or town government issues, they are 'Concord groups' from 'outside'. When George Soros infuses money into groups like ITEP, they have NO SHAME in allowing them to interfere in local matters.

I HOPE FOLKS ARE GOING TO BE READY TO RISE TO THE EFFORT on OCTOBER 21st-22nd.

EVERY REPUBLICAN NEEDS TO GET ON THIS ISSUE...

YOU CAN CALL/WRITE TO ASK WHAT AUTHORITY THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO INTERFERE.

First there was Bill Ayers and the Reverend Wright. Then there was ACORN! And then the czars! And now we have college professors, Striesand, and ....SOROS!!!!

Honestly, this is getting ridiculous. Is there anything and anybody that right-wing nut jobs are NOT afraid of? Just asking...

You amuse me Nonplussed.

The left screecehs about how disingenuous the Tea Party movement is, pointing at shadows as they try to pin someone, anyone with big money, to the movment. When the can't they resort to name-calling, intimidation, and lies.

But when someone provides details, links, and notes that point to a group claiming to be a non-partisan research organization which clearly has significant connections and funding from known left wing interests (with very deep pockets), the best you got is 'right wing nut jobs?'

Go back to Blue Hampshire. You are embarassing yourself.

Steve,

I love the come back!!!

Steve M. I actually know ITEP, and have used their material in doing tax analysis. They spoke AGAINST a sales tax in NH, for several reasons, one of which was the impact on small retail businesses.

ITEP may be funded by centrist and progressive groups, but they do serious research. The other pretty good group is the Tax Foundation, funded by centrists and the right, I think. The key consideration with these groups is often not where thye money comes from, but what is the purpose of the group, ITEP and TF are info providers, not advocates.

I trust them, and I trust that the committee that hears what they have to say will use their info as just one input.

Why do we "need" all these outside groups coming in to "testify" about something that is a New Hampshire issue? Are not the voters of New Hampshire capable of deciding what is best for them?

The last time something like this happened, we ended up with a gay marriage act, which by the way, our so-called elected representatives did not allow the voters to weigh in on. Perhaps because they sensed what would happen, (i.e. It would be rejected as it was in California).

Instead of spending all this time and money on "tax summits", the needs of our state and its citizens would be better served if Almy and others focused on one very simple and basic premise, one which us private citizens know, understand, and accept, that being you cannot spend more than you take in, and not have to face the consequences of your actions sooner or later.

This administration is pretty damned scary because their operatives are even in our town meetings and state business now, clearly where they do not belong. You might enjoy your liberal fascism but we don't.

It's pretty damned scary when this administration is attempting to de-industrialize our country and turn it into the next Venezuela, by dumbing it down and taxing everything, including the air we breathe and the Co2 that results, and has looted the treasury on behalf of their European banking scumbag handlers.

It's pretty frightening that we have a virtual tin-pot dictator lies profusely and unabashedly while talking about 'health care' and then claims he has no idea what is in the bill when challenged.

It is pretty frightening that in order to control a nation you must control who gives them medical care and the people advising this person on this issue are downright lurid in their Orwellian view of the world and their lack of respect for life. They are plain certifiable nutjobs.

It is pretty frightening when you have Communo-Marxists in this administration who admit they adulate Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and one of the worst murderers in recent history, Mao Tse Tung as their favorite philospher. A little Hitler in the spring time maybe?

What's next? Anita Dunn admitted they control the press as well. And you agree with this.

The suggestion was that press should be bailed out so they can then be controlled and all airwaves be subject to regulation, AS IF THE GOVERNMENT OWNS THE AIRWAVES!!! NOT!!! @!#$!@#$!#$!#@$.

If you go along with this destruction of human rights, then you sir are worse than Hitler and these people and your Poser Moron that you call 'president' all deserve to be FROG-MARCHED out by the military and jailed.

@nonplussed: You forgot to mention the other 999 scandals and outrages...like your boy Hodes running out of the room when it was time to come down on the Country Wide Scandal.

Is there something horrific that you Donkeys *haven't* done lately to offend the people and the Constitution?

"We are the ones we have been waiting for". What an empty-headed, vacuous, moronic thing to say! Here's to the vacuous morons who fell for it.

It's time to replace the Democrats donkey with a locust. They ruin every state they touch.

NH:

"is pretty damned scary...It's pretty damned scary ....It's pretty frightening ...It is pretty frightening ...It is pretty frightening"

The GOP has become the party of the timorous and fearful. What a buch of scaredy-cats. Pathetic

It's amazing that there are those who fear even talking about an issue. It tells us something about them.

If our tax structure was fair and equal as a burden to us and perfect in every regard, there might not be any need to review it. I can't imagine Republicans or Conservatives saying it is perfect. But not wanting to even discuss our tax structure would mean that they're quite satisfied.
October 21, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJim Splaine
Jim, day 1 of today's dog and pony show seemed more like an anti-tax summit than anything else. I don't think this was the response Ms. "Money Bags" Almy was looking for. Unless tomorrow is full of pro-taxers. Anyways, as for the speakers, Lisa Shapiro nailed it when she referenced replacing one tax with another "There is always some element of increased spending tied to it." I think Peter Francese also made an outstanding point when he made the suggestion of consolidations. I say that we hold a "cut spending" summit after this one. On a side note, I now know WHO NOT to use as a real estate agent if i decide to buy property in Coos County. Too bad people like the former New Yorker refuses to accept the failures of broad based taxes when implented in other states, which were clearly referenced in today's meeting.

So James, it sounds like Rep. Almy organized a fair session and solicited opinions from all sides of the issue- as I would expect given her integrity and passion for fairness. She lined up speakers who want to keep our reliance on property taxes and those who favor other approaches. Why are right wing nuts afraid of this?

And why do you refer to her as "Money Bags". She is not wealthy, and has devoted the last 15 years or so of our life to public service to our state. There are few people who understand our state's revenue systembetter than her. Even if you disagree with some of her politics, she deserves credit for her efforts and for her even-handedness.

Ok Jim, how about we discuss the merits of criminalizing homosexuality? Yeah, lets put up a bill that makes it not only a crime but one punishable by life in prison.

Clearly you're willing to sit down and discuss the merits of such an idea right?

My example shows how foolish your statement here is. When something is a bad idea you know it's a bad idea. Punishing someone for their sexual preference is just as stupid as looking for more ways to tax people. Both are bad ideas and you don't need to sit and have a discussion to understand that.
October 22, 2009 | Registered CommenterRick Barnes
People talk about that often, and I participate in the discussion. In most of this country even today, one can still be fired or refused housing or services just because they're gay. So, we're talking about it. Just a few years ago, talking about marriage equality was a no-no and far out idea. And that discussion is continuing in dozens of states.

It's interesting to note the kinds of topics, and the diversity of ideas, that the information sessions have generated these past couple of days in Concord. It's clear that there is room for improvement in our tax structure, just as there is in the way we spend. We can always find ways to bring more efficiecy. We can always find ways to be fairer and more equal with one another in the way we raise taxes.
October 22, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJim Splaine
Jim, if you think it's fair to take from others simply because they earn more then perhaps you and the rest of the Democratic party should lead by example. Put up a bill to cap all government salaries at the median income level for the state. After all it's not fair that anyone in the government should earn so much right? They shouldn't take more then their fair share from the rest of us, right?

"It's amazing that there are those who fear even talking about an issue. It tells us something about them. " - Jim Splaine

Let's talk about what stupid democrat legislation and spending we are going to reverse first after the tidal wave.

Homosexual marriage: Let's talk about a constitutional ammendment to preserve one man one woman marriage.

Parental notification and consent: Let's talk about how fast we will pass that bill.

LCHIP: Let's talk about killing that program pronto.

Democrats selling the voter checklists we taxpayers pay for: Let's talk about making them pay that money back and outlwaing this outlandish trick.

RSA91-A: Lets talk about reversing all the nonsensicle additions to that law meant to weaken it.

Let's talk about a constitutional ammendment to outlaw any broad based tax in NH.

Let's talk about where Raybo will go for a job when Democrats lose the House and both Congressional seats. Amsterdam?
