Obama Just Got His Private Army

Nancy Matthis

March 27, 2010

Remember when Obama said he wanted a “national security force”? Not the national guard, but a civilian one that has not sworn to uphold the Constitution? On July 2, 2008 in a speech in Colorado Springs, Barack Obama called for a police state.

Remember that first alarming glimpse of what that army might look like? Notice how much these “Hitler youth” type young men talk about health care!

Obama just got his private army…

…And no one seems to have noticed. It is buried in the Senate revisions to the health care bill.

Subtitle C–Increasing the Supply of the Health Care Workforce

Sec. 5201. Federally supported student loan funds.

Sec. 5202. Nursing student loan program.

Sec. 5203. Health care workforce loan repayment programs.

Of course this is a rightwing fantasy and is about as accurate as most of the conspiracy talk going around, just easier to disprove. This section of the bill amended section 203 of the federal code, which established a ready reserve in 1944. The ready reserve is designed to be used in cases of national emergency like a disaster or pandemic and serves under the Surgeon General. Total funding for this "army"? $5 million.

Shame on NH Insider for not spending 15 seconds checking this nonsense before posting it. One more example of NH Insider's journey into the rabbit hole.

Work hard and have fun, indeed.

NP,

If all is as you say whats it doing in the health care bill?

They claimed Death Panels didn't exist either but anyone with an education beyond 8th grade education can interpret what it means to have a comparative effectiveness panel tell someone who they feel is no longer a productive citizen what procedures they can get at health care facilities.

Uh, NH Insider, hate to break it to you, but "death panels" actually don't exist, anymore than the Ready Reserve is a secret army. Death panels was a figment of imagination from a confused and somewhat hysterical rightwing Congressgal from Minnesota. I am not sure if she got beyond 8th grade, but if she did she probably wasn't paying a lot of attention.

Hopefully this information will help you sleep better at night. The world actually isn't ending.

NP,
Sorry but you are wrong! There has been and will continue to be death panels ...
They are called the Comparative Effectiveness Panels and they determine if a procedure is worth performing weighing all the various factors such as cost, age of the patient, relative healthiness of the patient etc... If your 'score' is below a threshold you don't get the procedure, period end of discussion. Instead you get "End of Life Planning - FREE".

At least when the insurance companies denied coverage, you could still get the procedure by paying for it yourself! Then fight for compensation after when you were still alive. Not any more! Hard to fight the government when you are dead!

Obamacare - Something for Everyone to Hate!

Wait until you hear the howling about government intrusion in your lives when the Liberal/Progressives realize that eventually the Right Wing takes over and you have just conferred on them enormous powers over your personal life! Enormous powers over your State Governments, Enormous Powers over who gets hospitals and medical care and who doesn't!
Wasn't it the "Progressives/Liberals" back in the Anti-Vietnam days that proclaimed to never trust the government!

Go under the blogger alerts and read/watch/listen to Paul Krugman talk about the CE board
