Bettencourt statement on revenue figures

The following statement was issued this afternoon by House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt following the release of the latest revenue figures for the State of New Hampshire.

"While this is certainly not news to be celebrated, given the current state of the economy, it is not surprising.  This is exactly why Republicans were so conservative when projecting revenues for the next budget.  You may recall that, at the time, Democrats referred to our estimates as 'draconian' and 'manipulative.' These are the same people whose own revenue estimates of the last four years resulted in more than 100 new taxes and fees when they were unable to find money to fill their huge deficit.

Even today, as the budget gap continues to grow each month, Democrats are calling for additional spending despite the fact that revenues just aren't there to support it.

Perhaps now the people of this state will realize that the Democrats have absolutely no credibility when it comes to projecting revenues for a state budget.  As Republicans we will continue to monitor revenues to make sure that the State of New Hampshire continues to live within its means, just as our constituents are forced to do in their own personal lives."

Time to bring out the wash-cloths. Looks like the Libs and RINO's have some eggy on their facey – perhaps a vestige of their pork fest. Time to pay the piper!
