Bettencourt statement on the passing of former Governor Walter Peterson
Friday, June 3, 2011 at 07:35AM "The name Walter Peterson is synonymous with the term 'public servant.' From his many contributions as a legislator and governor, to his years of service to public higher education, he devoted his life to making New Hampshire a great place in which to work, live and raise a family. Walter Peterson was a statesman in the truest sense of the word. I came to know him personally as we shared a common passion of wanting to see the sport of baseball restored to the University of New Hampshire. Those of us in the House Majority office send our sincerest condolences along to his wife Dorothy and her family, including his son and former colleague in the NH House, Andy Peterson."
