Presidential Election 2012 Red - Blue Map By Counties

If you showed most people this map and asked who they thought won the election it represented for sure most would choose the RED guy.

But President Obama carried the most populous areas where there is the greatest concentration of people already on entitlement subsistence. Where Food Stamps are  the grocery shopping currency of choice, and Section 8 housing has huge developments.

Romney was absolutely right about the 47% voting in their own best interest.

THAT is why he was vilified in the standard Alinsky fashion.

It is a formula as simple as counting who gets money or something of value from the government and who works for a living oblivious as to how our sytem works.

Grover Norquist is correct that American elections are broken down into two coalitions.

The "Leave Us Alone" coalition and the "Takings Coalition."

And a lot of those "Red" counties were very close. I think it's more than insulting being critical of those who need food stamps, or the 47% who are receiving Social Security, Medicare, or their retirement benefits from serving in the military or public service jobs.

If America is to be united, the "we're all in this together" concept has to replace the "I've got mine, I'm pulling up the ladder now" syndrome.

Thank goodness that the majority of the people of this country -- by a margin of some 3 million -- saw through the puff and fluff, half-truths and rhetoric of the Republicans.

The words "...with liberty and justice for all" mean something to most Americans, and liberty and justice in women's choice, the workplace where labor can freely organize without corporate intimidation, in marriage, and in having affordable health care won out because those words do mean something very real.

Jim gots more 'splainin' to do. Just how is it just when a gang of misanthropes puts pointy guns to heads of those who make stuff, and demands that they fork it over? That's sum interestin' liberty you're humpin', Jim. By the way, are you mailin' this in from Colorado's Rocky Mountains?

What "stuff" did she know, and when did she know it?

Picking on my friend Granny D. gets my blood boiling. For someone who calls her "dummkopf," she'd never incorrectly spell "yours" as "your's." She went to school, and graduated.

And I have great pride in her. She knew that the influence of big money in politics hurts us all, and affects Democrats and Republicans across the board.

Jim has pride for a lot of things, like non-resident voters.
November 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterEd Naile
Ed -- I have much pride for American voters. We all have to vote somewhere, and not have our right affected by red tape, intimidation, or having to jump through hoops and loops. Seems like we fought many wars to protect that freedom. I think most Americans believe in that freedom to vote. Thank you for recognizing my pride in that right.
November 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJim Splaine
But pride in winning is more important!

I get it.

But voter fraud sounds so wonderful when you put it that way

Simmer down you're blood, Jimbo. The only reason why there is so much money in polyticks is cuz theirs so much money distributed by polyticians – why, it's the Grate Circle of Political Life!

Jim,
Note well I said food stamps and public housing ... you turned that into social security and public servants, military etc.

Yes wouldn't it be nice to have a workplace free of Union thugs extorting money from my paycheck to give to politicians that I don't support. Wouldn't it be nice if I wasn't forced to participate in a Marxist collective that I don't support or believe in!
Wouldn't it be nice if the STATE gave the churches back their word - Marriage. The state offers nothing that was traditionally associated with marriage for thousands of years, they can only offer legal recourse should the partnership breakdown. It would make partnering for Aethists and Agnostics so much better if the state abandoned the word marriage and stopped sticking religion onto those who don't want it.
Wouldn't it be nice if the Liberals and Progressives finally admitted that after 20 weeks a fetus is actually a viable human being that can survive if given the opportunity. Birth terminates Pregnancy!
and as PJ O'Rourke said "If you think healthcare is expensive now wait to you see what it costs once it is free!" and the cost will be measured not just in dollars but in rationed care!
Finally Granny D was a hypocrite of major proportion! She complained incessantly about money in politics while accepting $$$ to keep her little charade going! I asked her directly once how she justified accepting so much cash while BLAH BLAH BLAHing about everyone else, her answer was typical liberal, " cause we need the money to fight the money!"

NH -- So many make up their own facts, or come up with myths. I'll try to offer some reality:

1. Food stamps and public housing save lives, and especially help children. What would Jesus do? Do we want our poor to sit on streets waiting for kind passersby?

2. In New Hampshire, NO ONE has to join a union. Unions are freely negotiated between employees and employers. And no union member's dues may be used for political purposes unless the union member agrees.

3. "Marriage" doesn't belong to Churches, but Churches may use "marriage" in any way they wish within their own religion and membership. A "marriage license" is what is provided, for a payment of $45.00, by a city or town hall to two people -- straight, gay, or lesbian -- who apply. Under House Bill 436 that I sponsored in 2009 (you can read it on the State WEBSITE -- go to my name, 2009 legislation, to find it), Civil Marriage is separate from Religious Marriage. So Chuches may use "marriage" in any way they choose.

4. A woman's body is her body. Isn't it strange that mostly men want to control women's bodies?

5. Health care is a right. And your HMO or insurance company already "rations care," and takes some 30% off the top of the health care dollar as their profit. Pure and simple. How do you think all those insurance companies pay for their agents and big buildings? And they do NOTHING to provide health care. They're just the money-shufflers.

6. I know personally how low-income Granny D. was. She had little money, and her "organization" lived and lives on small contributions, and mostly volunteer work. The profits, minimal as they were, from the sale of her books and the HBO movie documentary (available through Amazon.com and Netflix) funded her travel, stamps for her letters, and her telephone. She was amazing. She took on the corporate interests, and won some victories.

WWJD, Jimbo? Let's see, would he arm a police force with pointy guns and shiny boots to ensure the worker bees "gave" to the drones – and oh by the way, provide sustenance to sustain the queen and her busy hive full of bureaucrats – till the bleeding hearts could render no more sustenance and the hive collapsed under its own colonized syndrome? Sounds Jesus-like to me, eh Jimbo.

Jim,

The point about food stamps was they vote democrat because the democrats don't make them accountable. Obviously President Obama and the Democrats love poor people look how many their policies have created!
yes in NH one must now pay the Unions if you wish to work for the State Government and most of the Public Employee unions are all in or else no job. That is a vote against free choice and free will to fill the coffers of the Union Bosses.
Marriage was a word used by the religious for thousands of years to describe what some religions elevate to sacrament level. The State took the word from the churches when they took over the record keeping function. Wouldn't it be the easiest solution to give the darn word back to the religions, and use Personal Partnership(or some other secular phrase) instead at the state level. Ah, the democrats don't want to solve the issue they want to continue to use the issue to divide people!
A woman's body is her own and medical procedures are defined by the States. There comes a time in the incubation process where the child is viable on it's own. If a woman who wants a baby is viciously attacked and the baby dies but not the woman, should the attacker be charged with taking a life, at 6 weeks? at 20weeks? at 39weeks? At all times during an abortion the fetus must be birthed, if it is viable shouldn't the life of the infant be considered?
On healthcare don't be holding your breath for some great amount of savings, the government has enormous overhead costs associated with medicare, they just do a real good job of charging them off to other departments so you don't see them!
The last question about Granny D is if you felt her work was so important why hasn't the democratic party raised up in outrage at the amount of money Obama has spent in the two elections. Note that McCain, was true to his roots and took public financing and all the restrictions that went with it, Barack didn't! Where is the Outrage??? Where was Granny D in 2008? Not a peep from her on Obama's massive spending and campaign finance shenanigans with foreign $$$!

Ohhh Bob -- you're reading myths. Where do you get your information that you must join a union to work for the State of New Hampshire, or anywhere in New Hampshire? You don't. And your money -- dues -- cannot be used for political purposes without your approval. Fact. Show me a law that says differently, and not just the rhetoric of that so-called Right-To-Work lobbying group from Virginia -- which is a front for Corporate America, the same corporations that want to underpay their workers, and love to ship jobs overseas.

You can't get food stamps without being accountable. There's a stringent guideline process. And fact is, most food stamps provide food for families with kids. Should they sit on the street waiting for someone to throw them crackers?

Yes, I love poor people, and President Barack Obama and Democrats do too. Many Republicans do too. Jesus sure did. They need a lift up. Too many people who have made money want to pull up the ladder and keep others on the bottom. They oppose a minimum wage for that very reason. And they don't want health care for all because they want the health care to be available only for those who can afford it. Shorter lines that way.

"Marriage" isn't patented by Churches. Never has been. Ever. If so, show me the patent. Another myth that you're reading somewhere.

Medicare administrative costs are very low, around 5 percent. It's a matter of oversight where some fraud exists. If you think "...they just do a real good job of charging them off to other departments so you don't see them," where's the proof? Another myth, probably picked up from Fox News.

And about the Granny D. cause, Democrats aren't going to put their weapons down if the Republicans / corporations / special interests keep spending big money to beat us. That's why President Barack Obama was competetive this year against Mitt Romney and his millionaire -- billionaire --- friends. We're not stupid. We're in the fight to win. And John McCain had to take public financing in 2008, because the Republican millionaires weren't contributing to him that year -- they were probably waiting for one of their own, Mitt Romney.

Finally, if you have any proof about "campaign finance shenanigans with foreign $$$" in the Obama campaign, it's your duty -- or the duty of those who have that proof -- to come forward. It's illegal. And I hope you're not waiting for Donald Trump to try to "prove" Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States any longer. What a laugh.

Jim Splaine forgot a new "right" people have.

He touched on the progressive "right to health care" which means scissors in the back of your partial birth head, and a woman's body is her own until it has a baby and all of a sudden it is shared FINANCIALY with a male of the same species.

But the right to go to college - he skips.

The right to a collge education means anyone can go to any college of their choice, and vote there.

The "right to go to college" must therfore eliminate out of state tuition.

Otherwise students are being ripped of by our schools who use them toilet paper.

Imagine making a student pay twice as much just because they want to go to school here.

What heartless hypocrites progessives are.

It is ALWAYS about the money, money, money.
November 15, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterEd Naile
Oh Jim you're spreading myths ..
Yes there are plenty of people with no children getting food stamps while their live in significant other gets paid from a job. Can't ask if they aren't married, not sure you can ask even if they are married.
NH is now a must pay state.. no you don't have to join but you do have to pay! and who by chance is accounting for the $$$ going into the unions. Since their reporting requirements were drastically reduced by the 2006 Democrat majorities in the senate and house. (Hodes & SEIU-Porter). What really bothers the unions about Right To Work is it gives a person the right to make more than the union slugs are making while allowing a person to work the way they want and not be slave to work slowdown rules meant to protect bad workers.
We could argue minimum wage until the cows come home, raising them has never lifted a single person out of poverty it just slides the scale over a notch every time you raise them. Could show how entry level workers suffer every time you raise minimums.
There is no Patent on the word marriage but you are being ridiculously blind to think that it has nothing to do with religion. On the other hand State 'marriage' is devoid of anything except legal remedies. But I'll stick with the fact that Democrats don't want solutions they want division and the gay issue is a real good divisor, can't give that up.
Medicare overhead costs are 5% is the Democrat talking point. But they do not include all the costs associated such as the costs of the building and maintenance, or the collection costs of the IRS who collects the money. Tons of hidden costs of union bureaucrats pushing paper!
So as Great as you like to paint her Granny D was just a distraction that had no effect on Democrats spending let alone Republicans. And your myth that McCain couldn't get fundraising money is false because he announced he would take public financing before he was the nominee.

Bob:

Taxpayers who listen to liberals like Jim need to know a few things.

1. You can NEVER prove something to a liberal. That is a dodge they use to escape facts while they aggitate for what they want.

2. If you point out facts to a liberal, when cornered, they say this: "Well both sides do it."

That is all you need to know. It is like arguing with a two year old.

Unless you are using a liberal's limited talking points to educate people who are forced to pay for their schemes, it is a waste of time.

It doesn't take a numbers genius to figure out that these maps are simply a reflection of population. Republicans do well in rural areas so of course there is going to be more red than blue since not many people live in rural areas. Democrats tend to congregate in urban areas where millions of people live crammed together. Is your point that geography should determine reprsenentation? If so, shame on you. The red/blue split has long been this way--there's nothing new here.
If you want to look at it another way around, look at New Hampshire Senate District 9. Andy Sanborn won only two towns, so there is much more geographic blue. However, Sanborn won Bedford big time, and since that's where most people area, he won the district overall. If we follow the logic that geography should rule, then Nyquist would win and the NH Senate would be 12-12. Simply absurd!!!
