The Obama campaign “got caught lying” and “with their pants down” in linking Republican presidential challenger Mitt Romney to a television ad about a woman's death from cancer, leading Romney surrogate John Sununu told Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview.
“This is a perfect sign of how desperate the president is to avoid talking about issues,” the former GOP New Hampshire governor and White House Chief of Staff said. “Actually, the new low was reached in denying that they knew anything about this ad — and then getting caught having had a discussion of exactly the same topic, with exactly the same individual that’s in the ad, in a telephone news conference with the press last May.”
The advertisement, sponsored by the pro-Obama group Priorities USA Action, suggests that Romney’s business dealings contributed to former steelworker Joe Soptic's wife's death from cancer by depriving her of health insurance.
Watch our exclusive interview. Story continues below.
The spot has drawn widespread criticism for its negativism — particularly since it was learned that Soptic got another job with health insurance, but decided not to put his wife on his policy to save money.
There are also unanswered questions as to how much the White House knew about the Soptic case as he had been used in a campaign conference call in May.[...]
Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 08:23AM CONCORD – House Speaker William O’Brien (R-Mont Vernon) and House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt (R-Salem) today commented on the passage of House Bill 1658, which improves existing fraud-detection procedures in the Medicaid and welfare programs. The objective is to more comprehensively identify and disqualify applicants and recipients who are defrauding the state. The bill as amended requires the department of health and human services to seek bids and implement a system that uses additional readily available public- and private-sector data bases to verify residential and financial eligibility for state-funded services. The bill passed 245 to 84.
House Speaker William O’Brien
“A recent independent audit of the food stamp and Medicaid program reveals disturbing evidence of significant fraud and abuse. If we can put controls in place to prevent welfare fraud, we can save money, better direct resources and bring one more opportunity to integrity in government. I think we all, regardless of our party affiliation, can support the idea of using our resources for those in need, not those who are taking the system for a ride. There are 21st century technology tools available that can block welfare fraud, and we need to bring these to state government. We shouldn’t be putting millionaires on Medicaid, putting people in prison on welfare, or be paying bills for a person who has been deceased since 1983. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services argued in committee that the use of new technologies to discover fraud were unnecessary as there could not be any significant, undiscovered fraud—but this report just released shows that administrator laxness in the Lynch administration not only exists, but they want it to continue.”
House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt
“For years we have been told that there is no such thing as welfare fraud in this state, yet after finally applying enough pressure to research the matter, our fears have been confirmed. Preliminary results have already shown that we have food stamp receipts that are dead, in prison, or have homes worth over $400,000. Results have also shown that as many as 9% of our food stamp receipts have primary addresses that are outside of our state. This bill works to implement the technologies that are readily available in order to find and eradicate this welfare fraud. This fraud is not only thievery from the taxpayer, but it is a great disservice to people in this state who truly need these services. This bill is another example of this Republican Majority’s focus and work on better, more transparent and more efficient government in this state.”

....Another great example of corruption in government. The players, Barack Obama and USDA's Shirley Sherrod. Shocking, worth the read.
Andrew Breitbart is a media genius.
He proved it originally with his brilliant handling of the ACORN hooker scandal which he skillfully manipulated so that the corrupt media was forced, against its will, to broadcast corruption in one of Obamas most powerful political support groups. But Breitbarts handing of that affair is nothing compared to his brilliant manipulation of the Shirley Sherrod white farmer scandal.
It all began last Monday, July 22, 2010. As the country watched in horror, Breitbart released a snippet of a tape on his Big Government site which showed an obscure black female official of the Dept. of Agriculture laughing to a roomful of NAACP members about how shed discriminated against a destitute white farmer and refused to give him the financial aid he desperately needed. As she smirked to the room, she sent him instead to a white lawyer one of his own kind for help. The black woman was Shirley Sherrod and almost immediately she became the center of a firestorm of controversy which exploded throughout the country. Within a day of the release of that infamous tape, the head of the Dept. of Agriculture, spurred on by Obama, demanded and received Sherrods resignation. Breitbart had won.
But then seemingly Breitbarts actions began to explode in his face. As Sherrod screamed in protest, FOX News released the entire text of her speech last March to the NAACP. And there on tape Sherrod was shown supposedly repenting of her racism against a white farmer and instead championing his fight to win funds to keep his farm afloat. Within hours of that entire tape being revealed, the entire world turned against Andrew Breitbart. Conservatives throughout the country were enraged that he endangered their reputations by releasing a doctored tape. Breitbart, they thundered, had dealt a fatal blow to the conservative media. I confess that I also was horrified at what I saw as the clumsiness and stupidity of Breitbart in doctoring a tape to make a supposedly innocent woman look guilty. But now I discover I have been as guilty of haste to judgment of Breitbart as the Dept. of Agriculture was of Ms. Sherrod.
Only now am I realizing the real purpose for Breitbarts release of that tape snippet. It was to allow him to cunningly trick the media into exposing one of the most shocking examples of corruption in the federal government a little known legal case called Pigford v. Glickman.
http://pajamasmedia.com/zombie/2010/07/27/pigford-v-glickman-86000-claims-from-39697-total-farmers/?singlepage=true
In 1997, 400 African-American farmers sued the United States Department of Agriculture, alleging that they had been unfairly denied USDA loans due to racial discrimination during the period 1983 to 1997. The case was entitled Pigford v. Glickman and in 1999, the black farmers won their case. The government agreed to pay each of them as much as $50,000 to settle their claims.
But then on February 23 of this year, something shocking happened in relation to that original judgment. In total silence, the USDA agreed to release more funds to Pigford. The amount was a staggering $1.25 billion. This was because the original number of plaintiffs 400 black farmers had now swollen in a class action suit to include a total of 86,000 black farmers throughout America.
There was only one teensy problem. The United States of America does’nt have 86,000 black farmers. According to accurate and totally verified census data, the total number of black farmers throughout America is only 39,697. Oops.
Well, gosh how on earth did 39,697 explode into 86,000 claims? And how did $50,000 explode into $1.25 billion? Well, folks, you l just have to ask the woman who not only spearheaded this case because of her position in 1997 at the Rural Development Leadership Network but whose family received the highest single payout (approximately $13 million) from that action Shirley Sherrod. Oops again.
http://beforeitsnews.com/story/110/024/Is_There_More_to_Sherrods_Dismissal.html
Yes, folks. It appears that Ms. Sherrod had just unwittingly exposed herself as the perpetrator of one of the biggest fraud claims in the United States a fraud enabled solely because she screamed racism at the government and cowed them into submission. And it gets even more interesting. Ms. Sherrod has also exposed the person who aided and abetted her in this race fraud. As it turns out, the original judgment of Pigford v. Glickman in 1999 only applied to a total of 16,000 black farmers. But in 2008, a junior Senator got a law passed to reopen the case and allow more black farmers to sue for funds. The Senator was Barack Obama!
Because this law was passed in dead silence and because the woman responsible for spearheading it was an obscure USDA official, American taxpayers did not realize that they had just been forced in the midst of a worldwide depression to pay out more than $1.25 billion to settle a race claim.
But Breitbart knew. And last Monday, July 22, 2010, he cleverly laid a trap which Sherrod and Obama stumbled headfirst into which has now resulted in the entire world discovering the existence of this corrupt financial judgment. Yes, folks Breitbart is a genius.
As for Ms. Sherrod? Well, shes discovered too late that her cry of racism to the media which was intended to throw the spotlight on Breitbart has instead thrown that spotlight on herself and her corruption. Sherrod has vanished from public view. Her pigs, it seems, have come home to roost. Oink!
In the Pigford case, Shirley and her husband (former civil rights activist and in the 60 associated with the original Black Panthers) received over $13 million for their small co-op farm on which they grew vegetables with neighbors. Plus they received $300,000 for "pain and suffering". Coincidence? Yeah right!!
The $1.25 BILLION settlement Obama ordered was hidden in a defense spending bill but found (fortunately someone read that bill) - several DEMS and REP riled against it, so it was removed and is now presented as a separate bill to be voted on.
Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 09:59AM Another interesting story sent to NHI as a "Letter to the Editor", this is not a new story in that it has been proven that the Global Warming/ limate Change fanatics have resorted to data manipulation as a means to push their agenda even whenthe "real" data proves their basic hypothosis as flawed.

WRITTEN BY JOHN O'SULLIVAN, SPECIAL TO CLIMATE CHANGE FRAUD | 09 AUGUST 2010 UPDATE 8-10-2010: It would appear CoastWatch has removed the original image. Never fear, it's shown here on the right. Please see author's addendum at end of article. Global warming data apparently cooked by U.S. government-funded body shows astounding temperature fraud with increases averaging 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. The tax-payer funded National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has become mired in fresh global warming data scandal involving numbers for the Great Lakes region that substantially ramp up averages. A beleaguered federal agency appears to be implicated in the most blatant and extreme case of climate data fraud yet seen. Official records have been confirmed as evidence that a handful of temperature records for the Great Lakes region have been hiked up by literally hundreds of degrees to substantially inflate the average temperature range for the northeastern United States. The web pages at the center of this latest climate storm were created by NOAA in partnership with Michigan State University. Disgraced Administration Mired in Another Climategate-style Data Fix Someone under the pseudonym ‘Sportsmen’ anonymously tipped off skeptic blog, Climatechangefraud.com. Independent analysts affirm the web pages as genuine. In his email the faceless whistleblower explains that what precipitated the scoop was “a rather dubious report in the media that the Great Lakes temperatures have risen 10 to 15 degrees, I found it was downright laughable.” (Just a few examples of media hysteria here and here and here and here) He continues, “ Prior to this report I would frequent the ‘Coastal Watch’ temperature maps for northern Lake Michigan. When this report came out it dawned on me that the numbers didn't match what I had been reading on the Coastal Watch temperature page.” Under a scheme called ‘Sea Grant’ NOAA collaborates with national universities to compile an official federal temperature record. In this instance, the partnersip is with Michigan University’s ‘Coastal Watch.’ Together the two institutions show temperature maps for northern Lake Michigan registering an absurd 430 degrees Fahrenheit -yes, you read it right –that’s four hundred and thirty degrees-and this is by no means the highest temperature recorded on the charts. In the heated debate about Earth’s ever-changing climate you certainly don’t need to be scientist to figure out that the Great Lakes would have boiled away at a mere 212 degrees so something has seriously gone awry inside this well-funded program. In addition to its civilian employees, NOAA research and operations are supported by 300 uniformed service members who make up the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps. But don’t bet on anyone being court-marshalled over this latest global warming fiasco. Paid for entirely from federal taxes, the shamed public body’s key responsibilities include warning of dangerous weather and protection of ocean and coastal resources, and conducts research to improve understanding and stewardship of the environment. Michigan State University Also Complicit in Fraud? The worst evidence of hyper-inflated global warming data is on a web page entitled, ‘Michigan State University Remote Sensing & GIS Research and Outreach Services.’ While another web page identifies that Michigan State University’s ‘Coastal Watch’ site is officially connected to NOAA thus implicating both institutions in a climate data conspiracy. At the bottom of the web page mention is made of ‘Sea Grant’ that is described as a “unique partnership of public and private sectors that combines research, education and technology transfer for public service.“ The legend further boasts that such data is shared across “ a national network of universities meeting the changing environmental and economic needs of Americans in coastal ocean and Great Lakes regions.” NOAA Makes it White Hot in Wisconsin But our intrepid anonymous whistleblower wasn’t done yet. He pointed out that Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, really got cooking this July 4th around 9:59AM, according to NOAA and Coast Watch. It was there, at the bottom left row of the temperature data points, that the records reveal on that day a phenomenally furnace-like 600 degrees Fahrenheit.(Click here if CoastWatch link does not work or disappears) Further analysis of the web pages shows that the incredibly wide temperature swings were occurring in remarkably short 10-hour periods-and sometimes in less than 5 hours. Strangely, none of the 250 citizens of the 78 families living in the village appeared to notice this apocalyptic heatwave during their holiday festivities. Hidden Data Spike Hikes Heating Averages But our sharp-eyed stranger comments, “ As I understand it, the current available Gif data maps are several for the latest dates, but the archives have less dates to choose from. It's possible that in the past these numbers were incorrect but in the archive system you do not see the numbers that could have been in gross error.” So it may reasonably be inferred climate fraudsters had a perfect opportunity here to fraudulently apply overcooked and overlooked data so that America’s Joe Public would be none the wiser that a few climate numbers vastly ramped up the national temperature averages. Laughably, NOAA publishes a caveat at the bottom right corner of their web page warning about their data is “Not to be used for navigation purposes!” The current head of NOAA is Dr. Jane Lubchenco, nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the United States Senate on March 19, 2009 and is the first woman to serve as NOAA administrator. On her appointment Lubchenco declared that science would guide the agency and that she expects it to play a role in developing a green economy. You can say that again! Readers now interested in doing their own detective work may wish to peruse the further data found here and here to further ascertain whether climate doomsayers have rigged more ‘real world’ temperatures in a shabby scheme to win support for green energy tax hikes. If you find anything be sure to drop Lubchenco a line here. Author's Addendum: I also applied due diligence and asked internationally renowned climatologist, Dr. Timothy Ball to take a look at the numbers. Here is what Dr. Ball observed: have read your article and believe it is a very valid observation of the data as reported. At best the entire incident indicates gross incompetence, at worst it indicates a deliberate attempt to create a temperature record that suits the political message of the day." Moreover, I have written to NOAA but am still awaiting their reply. I specifically asked whether this extravagantly false data was fed into climate models to help ramp up the U.S. climate numbers by "400%" as commented on by analyst, Jo Nova (more here). The Australian researcher provides an excellent summary to an important paper that removes all doubt that climate models are utterly flawed. As Dr. Ball points out—perhaps we know why. John O'Sullivan is a legal analyst, author and journalist. As an accredited academic, John taught and lectured for over twenty years at schools and colleges in the east of England before moving to the United States. As an analytical commentator, O'Sullivan has published over 100 major articles worldwide.
Of major concern here is whether the false data has been fed into climate models ascertaining the broader temperature averages for the entire United States. The alleged response from NOAA as shown in the comments below this article, indicates evasiveness by Chuck Pistis, NOAA Program Coordinator, in answering the question. Why so?
Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 09:20AM A great and un-reported story idea needs to be broke-
Andrew Langer at the Institute for Liberty exposed the NYT article “As Oil Industry Fights a Tax, It Reaps Billions From Subsidies” as part of an environmentalist effort to levy extra taxes on the energy industry. A response is posted here - http://www.instituteforliberty.org/index.php?src=blog&category=Blog&submenu=media.
The smoking gun? A copy of a memo from Clean Energy Works details the talking points used in the NYT article! http://www.scribd.com/doc/34382420/Clean-Energy-Works-Memo
(Langer and other experts can be made available for your story)
The Times was duped into misrepresenting US tax code and energy policy to push the enviro-agenda. Where is the MSM?
The NYT and CEW are calling for an end to the dual capacity rules which are tax laws that grant American companies who generate income in foreign countries tax credits to offset the U.S. income tax on that same foreign income. By eliminating this tax payment treatment, the government will be double-taxing our domestic oil and natural gas producers, further impairing their ability to compete in the global energy marketplace. Dual capacity will only be eliminated for the energy industry!
This proposal is part of Obamas 2011 Budget and in Congress!
If Congress approves these energy tax proposals that, among other new burdens, tax U.S. energy companies’ international income twice, it will be handing big subsidies to foreign competitors such as BP.
BP, China, Russia and other competitors will be given a distinct advantage over US companies. Domestic companies will be taxed while competitors are given subsides.
This is the BP Bailout.
After following the rules with safety, ethics, etc… the Obama administration and the CEW plan to punish US energy companies with double taxation while letting BP reap the subsidies.
And the New York Times fell right into their talking points.
