Little Evidence of Voter Fraud Prosecution Part IV

We call this one “The Lump at the Dump” for obvious reasons.

For several weeks prior to a November 2003 Special Meeting, called by the Bedford School Board in one of its many attempts to jam a school bond down the throats of Bedford voters, this stunt was pulled. See attached photos.

lump_at_the_dump.jpg

The “lump at the dump” is of course a Bedford School District Clerk who set up a card table and sign saying “Vote Here Today.” The sign was complete with poll hours. IF you look closely you can see the voter checklist on his table. The purpose of the pre-special meeting polling station was to hand out absentee ballots so people could “vote” while taking out their trash. Here is the relevant law:

671:21 Absentee Voting. –
I. A school district shall provide for absentee voting in the same manner as towns as provided in RSA 669:26-669:29 except that all duties performed therein by the town clerk shall be performed by the school district clerk. (The Lump)
II. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph I, if any school district votes to elect its district officers by separate ballot at the town election as provided in RSA 671:22, II, then for either the town election or the school district election an application for an absentee ballot shall be sufficient in order to receive an absentee ballot for both the town election and the school district election. If a town adopts the provisions of RSA 671:22, II, all forms relative to applications for absentee ballots, all absentee ballots, and all returns of absentee ballots shall be made only available at and only returnable to, as applicable, the office of each town clerk of each town comprising the school district.
III. Each town clerk shall make facilities in the town clerk's office available for the school district clerk to perform school district functions in connection with absentee voting. It shall be the duty of the school district clerk to post a notice at the school district clerk's office informing voters that all absentee voting procedures for school district elections shall be handled only through the town clerk's office.

Funny? It doesn't mention BEDFORD TOWN DUMP in RSA 671:21. No card tables for handing out absentee ballots like candy. It doesn't mention polling hours at all. You would think that if you were going to have voting at the BEDFORD TOWN DUMP there should be uniform hours with all the other towns that do it.

Now the reason “The Lump at the Dump” went to all the trouble to set up a satellite polling station WEEKS BEFORE the Nov. 2, 2003 Bedford School District Special Meeting. This Special Meeting was for a bond and it was NOT an emergency so a 50% voter turnout was required by RSA 197:3.

The “Lump” was trying “Pump” up the amount of voters. That is, using his position as School District Clerk to sway the outcome of the election.

CNHT was working with the taxpayer group in Bedford and suggested having informed taxpayers NOT vote in this “Special Meeting” would be the best strategy to defeat the $30 million dollar bond for two reasons.

One: It was not an emergency and historically at special meetings many “regular” voters do not show up. They should for all intents and purposes be re-named “Special Interest Meetings.”

Two: It had a “Heads they win – Tails you lose” warrant article created by the School Board. It was a sucker's bet.

After the election we took the photos and all the many statutes violated by the Clerk to Bud Fitch at the AG's office. A futile exorcise as usual. He wrote some opinion that what Lumpy did was “highly unusual” but not illegal.

So next time Lumpy can set up a polling station in the woods and only let the bears know its there.

Hey, its “New Hampshire The Primary State,” who cares.

Mr. Naile, I don't think it is very nice of you to refer to someone as a "lump". You could make your point without name calling and general unpleasantness. You may have a valid point about the law, I don't know, although it seems reasonable that the clerk can set up temporary auxillary offices for the purpose of encouraging people to vote. But even if you have a valid point, I think most people are going to ignore your point if you say mean things.

Bedford...hmmm. Might this offender be a ... Republican? Why do all the documented cases of voting infractions involve Republicans?

Aw Ed you big meanie!

And so what if this guy is a Republican? I did not see anything in the 'mainstream press' about this.

We could ask, why do all the cases of voter-fraud by Democrats go unpublicized?

Mr. Moose, if more people were less mean, the world would be a better place.

TJ - if the press and the AG did their jobs, NH would be a better place..

Q. "We could ask, why do all the cases of voter-fraud by Democrats go unpublicized? "

A. Because the Union Leader is in the back pocket of the Dems? All GOPers love to blame every problem on a liberal media even when the evidence (as with NHUL) is directly opposite.

Speaking of Voter Fraud, what do you call phone jamming? Is it better to encourage people to vote or to keep them from voting?

Sam K.

Thanks for making my points for me.

Jamming phone lines is one of a number of dirty tricks parties pull on each other. In the case of the Republican Party it was prosecuted to the fullest, and as with tradition, a never ending series of suits and news stories have and will follow.

The 17 year old Londonderry lad who voted in his father's place was prosecuted. It probably didn't help that he was a Republican activist.

In the case of the most blatant and provable voter fraud in a recent election, Democrat Geoff Wetrosky, a South Dakota political hack who ran the Democrat Mayor Baines campaign and was paid for by Democrat Sen. John Kerry used Democrat Party Chair Sullivans 192 South Mammoth Rd address to vote in Manchester. But he was not prosecuted by the Manchester Police or the NH AG?????????

You and I both are both smart enough to see the "problems" that would emerge if the press or AG got into that stinking heap.

What did Baines know and when did he know it. Did he approve? Has he ever denounced the actions of his political operative Wetrosky? I don't think so.

We could for instance look into who Wetrosky was on his cell phone to during his attempted escape from Republicans who were following his S.D. get-away car after he stole political signs the night before the election.

How did he wind up in the Sullivan driveway? Did he call her in the minutes before the police arrived?

Was this a plot? How far did it extend. If arrested, would Wetrosky give up his partners if any?

Could free room and board at the Dem. Party Chair's home be an in-kind contribution to Baines?

Back to the phone jamming.

Was there a single victim? Did one person lose a vote? How about the 17 year old who voted in his father's place. Could that alter an election? Who was harmed? Why wasn't that NH kid allowed to write an apology like out of state UNH students were in 2000?

Wetrosky stole a Manchester voters vote plain and simple and in police reports he himself states he is going back home to S.D. but he gets off scott free because of politics.

Sam, stop whining, you should be proud of your party. You may not have an agenda your party can state in public but you sure have voter fraud going for ya.

(The Sen. Schumer dirt diggers who accessed a black Republican's credit card records quietly pleaded out of their mess without an investigation. No press. Bravo!!!)
