The abbreviated (by me) letter reprinted below is a Letter To The Editor penned by five Town of Bow Selectmen in response to a previous LTE by Selectman Candidate Tome Keane. (Who was elected Tuesday after beating Thomas Fagan!!!!!)
Good employees should receive an adequate compensation package
To the Editor:
After reading Mr. Tom Keane's letter published in the April 26 edition of The Bow Times, we realize that our responses to his questions at the Budget Committee's public hearing were too brief to provide Mr. Keane with a full understanding of our personnel policies, and we wish to now provide additional information.
It is true that our proposed operating budget is an increase of $840,322 from the previous year. However, bla, bla, bla….
The proposed appropriations were approved by both the Board of Selectmen and the Budget Committee by 5-0 votes, bla, bla, bla…
Mr. Keane correctly identified a cost increase for health insurance, bla, bla, bla…
Finally, bla, bla, bla…
In summary, more bla, bla’s…
We believe that our employee compensation package achieves that goal appropriately and with the taxpayers in mind. (baloney)
