Having seen one mobster, albeit a tiny, cowardly one, off to his just rewards in a lifetime of prison buzzers to respond to, East Boston voters turned down a fancy new promise of free money from a casino in their part of Bean Town.

As Whitey goes off to Federal Prison in another state, so should the idea gambling casino monopolies run by politicians looking for more “revenue”.

What does this say?

East Boston voters don’t trust their representatives in the legislature?

Maybe they don’t like organized crime - from out of state.

Could it be they are simply smart enough to see a scam way ahead of all the gambling lobbyist’s cash flowing into town.

In any case, nice job, voters.
