IRS Director Lois Lerner will, according to her attorney, take the Fifth Amendment at a hearing scheduled by Congressman Issa for May 22. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2328696/Lois-Lerner-Top-IRS-official-invoke-Fifth-Amendment-congressional-hearing-tea-party-targeting-program.html

Lois has an attorney who is setting up her defense which will in all probability be an attack on the members of Congress who want her to answer some questions under oath about abusing her position at the IRS. The best defense is a non-defense, apparently.

I have a simple solution for Congressman Issa for getting to the heart of the matter.

Tap the phone lines between Lerner and her lawyer. Imagine all the great stuff she will say when she thinks no one is listening but some leftie lawyer.

That would be a huge win for Republicans.

But would Democrats complain about tapping phone lines between a lawyer and a public employee who wanted to know what was in the prayers of conservatives applying for tax free status? It would be done in an effort to ensure national IRS security? What’s the harm?

This Constitutional (situational) “change” is what we need to stop public officials from pleading the Fifth.

Congressman Issa could simply acknowledge that tapping a phone call between a lawyer and guilty client pleading the Fifth Amendment was an over sight he knew nothing about then make a humble effort to see that is doesn’t happen again – and “move on.”

That’s the way the Obama administration works now.

Since Benghazi and the IRS, Fast and Furious, AP news became public I have watched this character wave his hands at the TV screen like they are not part of his body. It is like a hand puppet show is going on in front of his egotistical skull – much like Nancy Pelosi does when she speaks. Those bony appendages of hers flip and flail all over creation. But then again, I think they are both a bit over-medicated.

O’Reilly should have a “hand recognition expert” on once in a while instead of the blond face expert.

Back to Crazy Bill from Harvard:

He has been down-playing every Obama scandal that has popped up.

“Oh this will go away, the Republicans don’t have a case, well it looks weak…” he never quits.

Now some in his own network, if he recognizes anyone but attractive women at Fox, have been targeted by the Obamaites for investigations and e-mail tapping.

Wonder what he will do now?

Probably try and spin it about himself.

He’s just another Dan Rather - out of drag.

Snake Eyes

The old saying “When you gamble the, House Always Wins.”

Well that is true. And it is more than true when you adopt casino style gambling as a state revenue stream to get all the “free money.”

One ugly fact is lost in the “free money- house wins” scenario.

Not only does the House win, so does the Senate and the Executive Branch.

The lobbyists win and the established bureaucracy wins as well.

The only non-winners are the poor taxpayers who have to make up for the gambling spending spree when the gambling money dries up – OR IS DIVERTED BACK TO CASINO OWNERS. (Remember the lobbyists? Why do you think they are hanging around statehouses?)

If you like standing in line behind big money gambling interests to see your legislators, you will love casinos.

If you like higher taxes and roller coaster state budgets, casinos are for you.

But please don’t ask non-gamblers and people with simple math skills to pay the failed gambling freight when it all goes south.

If The Coalition of New Hampshire taxpayers thought for one second gambling would lower taxes in the long run we would be on board with a smile.

It just isn’t so.

Maybe Jeanne Can Stand In

So many colleges have controversies over commencement speakers. Here is one you may have missed, Lois Lerner, speaking at Western New England University Law School, her alma mater.

That crook from the IRS, who instigated at NH Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s request, political investigations of conservative non-profits, was invited to speak and motivate young people.

Below I pasted a brag sheet of her accomplishments from a workshop she was supposed to lead on October 20. http://www.philanthropyjournal.org/irsworkshop

Let’s review it:

About the Lunch speaker:

Lois G. Lerner is the Director Exempt Organizations in the Tax Exempt and Government Entities (TEGE) division. She is a member of the Massachusetts bar having earned her juris doctorate from Western New England College School of Law graduating cum laude. She completed her undergraduate studies cum laude at Northeastern University.

Ms. Lerner began her career in government as a staff attorney in the Honor's Program at the United States Department of Justice. She served as a Special Assistant in the U.S. Attorney’s Office where she was lead counsel handling felony and misdemeanor prosecutions. In 1981, Ms. Lerner moved to the Federal Election Commission, serving as the Assistant General Counsel for Enforcement, and ultimately as the Acting General Counsel.

Ms. Lerner began her IRS service in 2001 as Director Rulings and Agreements in the Exempt Organizations function of TEGE. In January 2006, she was selected as Director Exempt Organizations. In this capacity, Ms. Lerner leads an organization of 900 employees responsible for a broad range of compliance activities, including examining the operational and financial activities of exempt organizations, processing applications for tax exemption, providing direction through private letter rulings and technical guidance and providing customer education and outreach to the exempt community.

Ms. Lerner is a past president of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws (COGEL) and an active member of the Humane Society of the United States where her efforts in performing pet rescues necessitated by the 2005 Gulf Coast hurricanes were widely acknowledged.

For those not aware, the Humane Society returns about 1% of its money to direct care of animals.

Do you think NH Senator Shaheen was asking the IRS to investigate Lois Lerner’s own “pet” project?

Doubt it. But you will hear progressives make the typical argument that down is up and night is day. IRS officials have alread admitted they targeted conservative groups.

And you have to admit, Lerner was at home running the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws (COGEL).

While we are at it, maybe COGEL should have some of its rocks peeked under for favoritism, ya think!

By the way, back to commencement speakers.

http://www.boston.com/metrodesk/2013/05/16/high-ranking-irs-official-withdraws-commencement-speaker-western-new-england-university-law-school/IrZCUa6zvnpguu6iEWlzCP/story.html

I am sorry to inform the fresh batch of moonbats at Western New England University Law School, Lois has other engagements and can not attend your silly ceremony.

May I See Your Medical Papers!

How about at least one name of the Obama criminals who used the IRS to attack any organization Obama perceived as an enemy.

A tax lawyer and typical progressive female in the leftie moonbat mode who just can’t seem to comb her hair shows up in the news today, her name: Sarah Hall Ingram.

Is it me, or do other people see a pattern here?

Ingram received her Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1979 and her J.D. in 1982 from Georgetown University Law School. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. (strike one, two, three)

Ingram is just another progressive product of America’s elite university system where cunning is rewarded over intelligence and a through, willing, soaking in political correctness is a free pass to graduation.

Ingram’s promotion to Czar of Obamacare will have to do as a “distinguished award” for now until this mess blows over.
