Thanksgiving Thoughts

By Richard “Dick” Olson

I am thankful for being born a US Citizen and for being born in the state of New Hampshire. I am thankful for my wife Katie, our 4 children and fifteen grandchildren.

I am thankful that I learned values that gave me strength and courage to serve my country, serve my town, and serve my community and church. I am thankful for the education I received in New Hampshire schools and Universities of Massachusetts and California. I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to have a successful career that provided my family with shelter, food, clothing and all necessities.

I am thankful that my family lives in the United States of America led by Presidents like Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon, Kennedy, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush and Bush . I am thankful that we live in a land protected by the US Constitution and that I am free to express my opinions and thoughts. I am thankful that I can say Happy thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. I am thankful that I am free to believe in God, read the bible, and believe in Jesus Christ.

I am thankful that I have a pension and social security and can currently pay my obligations. I pray to God every day that this continues.
