On January 11, 2006, at the annual meeting of the Manchester Republican Committee, two-year Republican leader, Cliff Hurst handed the gavel over to newly elected Chair Jerry Thibodeau. The new slate of officers include John Castalot to serve as first Vice-Chair, State Rep. Will Infantine as second Vice-Chair, Simone Maloney to serve as Treasurer, her fourteenth year, and Jane Zingaro to serve as secretary.

Among top Republicans praising retiring Chair Cliff Hurst were Mayor Frank Guinta, Executive Councilor Ray Wieczorek and State Republican Chair Warren Henderson. Cliff was honored for his abilities in handling the daily requirements that come with the Chair’s position.

Mayor Frank Guinta said he was very proud and thankful to Cliff for the many hours of dedication and his honest and tactful measures used to coordinate the forward momentum of the Republican Party in the last two years.

Executive Councilor Ray Wieczorek said he is very proud of individuals such as Cliff Hurst who worked tirelessly, honestly and in a professional manner to promote Republicans and the Republican platform.

State Republican Chair, Warren Henderson, also praised Cliff for his thoughtfulness,  candor,  dedication and undying love for humor.

Newly elected Chair, Jerry Thibodeau chose this time to unveil a great opportunity for the emerging cultures of Manchester.

Thibodeau announced the creation of an Advisory Board for the Pakistani community Chaired by Ijaz Foqia, a respected and successful banker in Manchester and an Advisory Board for the Latino Community Chaired by German Ortiz, a well known and successful real estate broker in this area.

Thibodeau is looking to establish an Advisory Board for the African American Community as well.

It was announced Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee would be the guest speaker on March 29 for the Republican Lincoln/Reagan Banquet and NewYork Gov. Pataki will be the key note speaker at a New Hampshire Republican State Party Fundraiser on the seacoast in the near future.
