In the last several weeks, contributions to the Carol Shea-Porter campaign have risen rapidly. The campaign has now raised more than $250,000 since the beginning of the campaign cycle -- more than $200,000 since the September 12th primary.
This was achieved without fundraising consultants, without a fundraising staff, and without the corporate contributions which make up a large part of the money raised by her opponent, Congressman Jeb Bradley. During the most recent FEC filing period, Shea-Porter attracted new individual contributions at almost twice the rate as Bradley, $74,947 to $39,168.
"People have been incredibly generous with their time and their money," said Shea-Porter. "A disabled vet sent me a $50 check with note that said 'This is a lot of money for me...... You better win.'"
