CHANGE THE DATE - JBC Ed Funding Conference 1/19

Because of a potential conflict with legislative orientation, we thought it important to change the date of our education funding conference to Friday, January 19 - still from 8:30 until Noon in Concord. I wanted to tell you the new date as soon as possible. It's difficult to change dates but we thought it was important to avoid a conflict with legislative meetings. I hope you can attend. The conference fee will be a modest $10 and you can sign up in advance simply by sending an email to or calling the office at 224-4450. I hope to see you there.  There's more information and background material on our website:

Presents a series of discussions

Education Funding and the Constitution

Complying with the particulars of the Supreme Court’s decisions on education funding and consideration of a wide range of constitutional amendments will be a significant focus of public policy over the next year. The Josiah Bartlett Center has brought together a group of constitutional experts with a wide range of views to help explain what exactly the court has said and the options it creates for policymakers. Experienced experts will also discuss a range of options for amendment from very broad to very narrow or not amending at all.

Confirmed speakers include former Justice Charles G. Douglas, Martin Gross, Prof. Richard Hesse, Scott Johnson, Edward Mosca, former Speaker Donna Sytek, and Eugene Van Loan.
