Senate President - Elect Larsen Announces Top Senate Positions

CONCORD – Senate President-elect Sylvia Larsen announced today the planned appointments for the positions of Senate Chief of Staff and Majority Policy Director for the 2007-08 legislative session.

Donna Soucy of Manchester will serve as New Hampshire Senate Chief of Staff. In accepting the position, Ms. Soucy leaves the post of general counsel to the New Hampshire Banking Department. A long-term Manchester activist, Ms. Soucy served three terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, including membership on the House Finance and Ways and Means Committees.

Soucy is a graduate of St. Anselm's College and has a law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center.

Taking the chief policy post is Jennifer Frizzell of Concord. Ms. Frizzell worked as the director of special projects for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England in Concord, New Hampshire. There she acted as the attorney responsible for providing legal and policy consulting, project management and political strategy for the organization. Prior to serving in this role, she was their director of public policy and legislative affairs from 1999-2004. Past positions also include serving as Associate Director of the UNH Program on Consensus and Negotiation, as well as having been a UN Environmental Law Fellow in Nairobi, Kenya.

Frizzell is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire in Durham, and has a law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center
