Senators D’Allesandro and Clegg Commend Passage of SB294:

Bill Adding Additional New HampshireState Troopers

CONCORD, NH – Senators Lou D’Allesandro and Bob Clegg commend passage today of SB 294, legislation authorizing the Department of Safety to hire additional State Troopers, by the New Hampshire State Senate.

SB 294 allows the state to add an additional 7 State Troopers to a force of 287 active Troopers that are honorably serving New Hampshire.

“New Hampshire currently has the least amount of State Troopers per population of all surrounding states,” noted Senator D’Allesandro, Deputy Senate Democratic Leader. “Our charge as state legislators is to ensure the safety of our New Hampshire constituents, and adding additional Troopers will greatly increase safety both for the general public and the Troopers themselves.”

“State Troopers are the first line of defense, and respond around the clock to problems that arise in New Hampshire,” said Senate Majority Leader Bob Clegg.

“We want to thank our Senate colleagues for their support of this important legislation,” they concluded.
