Durham, NH—Candidates for the Durham Town Council and the Durham Public
Library Board of Trustees will take part in televised forums on Monday, Feb.
27. The League of Women Voters of the Seacoast Area is coordinating the
planning of the forums with a group of Durham citizens. The live broadcast
will be at 7:00 pm on Durham Community Access Television (DCAT, Channel 22)
on the Durham cable television system. The forum will also be replayed prior
to the Mar. 14 election.

The Town Council candidates’ forum will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The four
candidates will be asked to answer questions submitted by Durham residents
over the past few weeks. Each will also have an opportunity to make a
personal statement. The candidates for Town Council are Susan Fuller,
Catherine Leach, Neil Niman and Henry Smith.

The candidates for Library Trustee will take part in a similar half-hour
forum immediately following the Town Council forum at 8:00 pm. The
candidates are Douglas Bencks, Sibylle Carlson and Nicholas Isaak.

The League of Women Voters of the Seacoast Area is a nonpartisan political
organization that works to improve our systems of government and impact
public policies through citizen education and advocacy. The League is a
grassroots organization, working at the national, state and local levels.
