Concord , NH – Last week proved to be a very exciting one for a member of the Boscawen community. Ms. Betsy Fogg and her dog, Champion HR Cedar Fog’s Holiday, JH, WCX, also known as “Billie,” competed in the 130thannual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Square Garden, New York.
“Billie” joined the ranks of 2,622 dogs competing in the show, which represented 165 breeds. “Billie,” a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, was one of 32 dogs representing New Hampshire in the very prestigious dog show.
During the actual events, “Billie” was handled by 18-year-old Melinda Williamson of Adams, Massachusetts. The pair worked flawlessly together and in the end, “Billie” was awarded Best of Breed.
Senator Bob Flanders (R-Antrim) invited Ms. Fogg and “Billie”to be honored before the entire Senate. Senator Flanders presented Ms. Fogg and “Billie” with a Senate Resolution and an engraved State Seal.
Senator Bob Flanders (R-Antrim) could not have been more proud of their win. He commented, “I am extremely fond of dogs and was excited that someone from Boscawen had come away with a big win at the Westminster show. It was an honor to have her and “Billie” in the Senate today to receive the awards. Everyone in New Hampshire should be very proud and none more than the residents of Boscawen.”
Senator Flanders represents Senate District 7, which is comprised of Antrim, Bennington, Boscawen, Bradford, Canterbury, Deering, Francestown, Hancock, Harrisville, Henniker, Hillsborough, Loudon, Nelson, Northfield, Salisbury, Warner, Weare, Webster and Windsor.
