Bass and Bradley Mum as Karl Rove Heads to Manchester, the Site of the 2002 New Hampshire Phone Jamming Scandal, for a Special Interest GOP Fundraiser

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, George Bush’s political guru, Karl Rove, will be in Manchester for a special interest fundraiser for the New Hampshire Republican Party. This is Rove’s first visit to the Granite State since the recent news reports and speculation regarding the involvement of top White House and Republican Party officials in the phone-jamming scheme the New Hampshire GOP used to prevent Democrats from voting in 2002. New Hampshire Reps. Charles Bass and Jeb Bradley are rubber stamps for the Republican Party when in Washington, voting the GOP line nearly 90% of the time, but have been silent on Karl Rove and the New Hampshire phone-jamming scandal.

“In the first election after 9/11, Karl Rove’s cronies were so shameless, they actually jammed the phones of firefighters working for something they believe in. Charlie Bass and Jeb Bradley have been silent on this and New Hampshire families deserve better than their silence,” said Bill Burton, communications director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Karl Rove is known for being a political mastermind, but lately all he’s done is mastermind dishonesty. When it comes to the right to vote, anything less than the truth is an insult to New Hampshire voters. It’s time to change the priorities in Washington.”
