Mayor recognizes local small business for their 27 years of operation in Manchester
Manchester- To honor local baseball card shop Collector’s Heaven’s 27 years of operation in Manchester, Mayor Frank C. Guinta has proclaimed that tomorrow, June 17, 2006 is National Baseball Card Day in the City. Guinta presented the proclamation to owners Mike and Caren Grady at their store earlier today.
"Collector’s Heaven has been a staple in our community for decades," Guinta said today. "I felt it was important that the City of Manchester expresses a small bit of our appreciation for the years of enjoyment that the Grady’s have provided for the sports fans of Manchester. They have been bringing smiles to faces, young and old, for 27 years."
In observance of National Baseball Card Day, Collector’s Heaven plans to hold a daylong celebration tomorrow including baseball card related games, giveaways, and guest appearances by former Major League Baseball Players. The store is located next to the Verizon Wireless Arena at 669 Elm Street in Manchester’s Downtown.
Mayor Guinta has made a point of his administration to not only look at attracting new companies to Manchester, but also recognize the businesses that have operated in and contributed to the community over the years.
