FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Concord –Joined by supporters, campaign staff, and dignitaries including State Rep. Charles Yeaton, State Rep. Kathleen Taylor and second district congressional candidate Paul Hodes former State Representative and House Majority Committee Whip Corey Corbin announced his candidacy for the New Hampshire State Senate in District 17.
The announcement event was held in the lobby of the Legislative Office Buildingin Concord and occurred at 11:30am. Corbin filed his candidacy with the Secretary of State a few minutes prior.
In his remarks, Corbin touched on the issues that will be central in his effort to unseat unpopular incumbent Senator Jack Barnes – Access to affordable health care, a solution to the decade-old school funding crisis, and a consumer protection plan that will end predatory lending practices and enact limits on the amount of interest that can be charged on installment loans and credit cards.
“I’m running on a common-sense, pro-working family platformthat offers solutions to some of our most pressing issues. I only wish my opponent would have spent his many years in office addressing these very same issues rather than introducing bills to unconstitutionally castrate people and change the state flag. Jack has utterly failed the people of district 17 and it is time to elect a new generation of leadership,” said Corbin.
