-“Once againthe Governor is avoiding his responsibilities to the people of New Hampshire as he refuses to take a position on a bill as significant as the welfare reform legislation. By letting it become law without having the courage to sign it, he is trying to have it both ways: appease opponents of the bill by not signing it and appease proponents by letting it through. This is playing politics with peoples lives. This Governor needs to start standing up for something. This is good, solid legislation. I want to offer a thank you to the Commissioner of Health and Human Services for his hard work on this to bring personal responsibility back to the welfare system.”
