Manchester – Manchester Economic Development Director, Paul Borek today announced the hiring of two new staff members. Kate Benway and Glen Ohlund will be filling the roles of Marketing and Retention Specialist and Development Coordinator respectively.

"I am very pleased to announce the additions of Kate Benway and Glen Ohlund to Manchester’s economic development team," Borek said. "The hiring of these two individuals will be critical to accelerating Manchester’s economic progress and building the tax base in our city."

"The hiring of Ms. Benway and Mr. Ohlund is great news for Manchester," added Mayor Frank C. Guinta. "I am very excited about the team Mr. Borek has assembled. These two individuals are extremely talented and highly qualified. Manchester is a very marketable city with great strengths and this team will do a great job encouraging and promoting our progress."

Ms. Benway’s will be responsible for developing and executing a marketing program that promotes Manchester as the place to invest, work, live, and play. She will also be responsible for developing and executing an effective business, communications, and visitation program, which promotes local business expansion. She was previously employed as a communications specialist at High Point Communications of Bow, NH. Prior to that, Ms. Benway had held the position of Director of Marketing for Intown Manchester.

Mr. Ohlund’s duties will include managing and expediting investment and development in downtown Manchester and initiating and executing neighborhood commercial revitalization programs throughout the City of Manchester. He formally held the position of Assistant Director for the New Hampshire Main Street Center in Concord, NH. Previously, Mr. Ohlund was Project Coordinator for Mission Hill Neighborhood Housing Services in Boston, MA.

The Manchester Economic Development Office promotes and coordinates expansion and attraction of business investment to the City of Manchester and promotes policy and collaboration to enhance the Manchester business climate.
