(July 19)-- Today, Congressional Candidate Jim Craig issued the following statement on President Bush's veto of the HR 810 to lift the ban on federal funding for stem cell research legislation:

"George Bush has placed the narrow interests of the extreme right-wing above the interests of American families. Today, President Bush stood in the way of important scientific research which holds hope for tens of millions of Americans. Stem Cell research holds promise for families as new treatments for Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's, heart disease, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis are developed. I will continue to strongly support federal funding for stem cell research."
