State Rep. candidate Jonathan Heath of Manchester has been named Hillsborough County Coordinator for the John Cox for President campaign.

He said he supports John Cox because of his conservative values and adherence to Ronald Reagan’s philosophy of government.

New Hampshire campaign coordinator Stephen Abbott said he is happy to have Heath helping the campaign.

"The enthusiasm Jon brings to the John Cox campaign will be a tremendous boost at this early stage," he said. "We welcome his efforts."

Heath was born in Merrimack, where he attended public schools. He later attended programs at the National Fire Academy, Emergency Management Institute and Frederick Community College. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve, and currently works in security management and as a part-time police officer. He is a candidate for state representative in Hillsborough County District 12, in Manchester’s Ward 5.

John H. Cox, 51, is the first announced candidate of the 2008 presidential race. He has already visited each of the state’s counties to introduce himself to voters. He is making another trip Aug. 23 - 26 which will feature Town Hall-style meetings and media interviews. He lives in Chicago, IL with his wife and four daughters.
