Schedule for August 23-26 Visit by Presidential Candidate John Cox

John Cox, the first announced Republican candidate for president in 2008, will visit New Hampshire from Aug. 23 through Aug. 26, 2006. Among events scheduled will be the signing of the "Pledge" to support the New Hampshire Primary on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 6:45 p.m. at Manchester City Hall.

Mayor Frank Guinta, GOP candidate for governor Jim Coburn, and Manchester Republican Committee Chairman Jerry Thibodeau are scheduled to attend. A town hall-style meeting will follow the signing.

A town hall-style meeting will be held in Goffstown on Thursday, Aug. 24, at Travers, the Village Eatery on 13 Main St. at 6 p.m.

Below is the candidate’s schedule. Media are invited to cover all public events.

Wednesday, Aug. 23:
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. - John Cox will meet and greet business owners and residents along Manchester’s Elm Street.

6:45 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. - John Cox will sign a pledge to support the NH Primary in the aldermanic chambers in Manchester’s city hall, then conduct a "town hall" style meeting.

Also on Wednesday, John Cox will be interviewed by Karen Testerman for her WDER-AM radio program "NH Policy and People" in Derry and with Bob Barry for his MCAM TV-23 program "Speak your Mind" in Manchester.

Thursday, Aug. 24:
9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - "Breakfast with John Cox" - John Cox will eat and be available for questions and greet patrons of the famed Merrimack Restaurant, located at 786 Elm St. Breakfast will be held in the back room of the restaurant. The public is invited.

12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - John Cox will be a guest speaker at the weekly business meeting of the Granite State Referral Network. He will speak at approximately 12:30 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes. The meeting will be held in the meeting room of Café 324 on 324 Commercial St., Manchester.

2 p.m. - 4 p.m. - John Cox will hold a sign wave/candidate visibility at the corner of Elm Street and Merrimack Street in Manchester.

4 p.m. - 6 p.m. - John Cox will meet and greet business owners and patrons along Goffstown’s Main Street.

6 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. - John Cox will hold a "town hall" style meeting in Goffstown at Travers, The Village Eatery, located on 13 Main St.

Friday., August 25:
12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. - John Cox will meet and greet business owners and patrons along Concord’s Main Street.

7 p.m. -9 p.m. - John Cox will participate in a candidate’s Night at Pelham Elementary School, 61 Marsh Rd., Pelham, sponsored by the Pelham Young Republicans PAC.

 

Also on Friday, John Cox will be interviewed by Terri Dudley at WTSL-AM radio in Lebanon.

Saturday, August 26:
11:00 a.m. - 2 p.m. - John Cox will meet and greet participants and visitors to the 2006 Northeast Exotic Car Show at 221 Daniel Webster Hwy in Merrimack.
