LYNCH STAFF BUDGET HAS EXPLODED IN JUST TWO YEARS
Jim Coburn Pledges to Control His Spending of Taxpayer Dollars
Manchester , NH – In the two years he has held the Governor’s office, John Lynch has raised his personal office spending by 79 percent. Today Jim Coburn pledged that, if elected Governor, he will limit his own office expenditures so they lie near 2004 levels.
“This is just the first step in controlling the amount of taxpayer dollars wasted on running state government. This increase shows how a seemingly small budget item can inflate to hundreds of thousands of dollars in excess spending of taxpayer dollars. It is incumbent on a leader to be an example for the rest of the departments, giving lip service is simply not enough. The Governor’s office staff is a great place to start, but it is just one of many areas where the state is spending more than necessary to get the job done.” Coburn said as he pledged today to reduce his own office spending back below one million dollars a year.
