DOVER – Democratic Congressional candidate Carol Shea-Porter will join former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner as a featured speaker at the Strafford County Democratic Victory Dinner this Fri., Sept. 22 at The Governor’s Inn, 78 Wakefield St. in Rochester, N.H.
Shea-Porter captured the 1st District nomination to Congress and national attention with her upset primary victory Sept. 12. Her low-budget grassroots campaign, powered by hundreds of active volunteers, demonstrated that progressive ideas and energy can result in victory at the polls.“The next generation deserves the same opportunities that I had,” Shea-Porter says, “I want to make sure that your children and mine can still afford to dream big and reach their goals.”
Gov. Warner has been supporting Democratic candidates and meeting party activists across the country since completing his service as governor of Virginia in January of this year. A potential candidate for the party’s presidential nomination in 2008, Warner believes “our challenge, as Democrats, is to reclaim our role as the party of the future.”
The Strafford County Victory Dinner will begin at 7 pm and be preceded by a reception at 6 pm. A limited number of dinner tickets are available at $30, two for $50. Sponsorships which include a reception with Gov. Warner and two dinner tickets are also available: Friend, $150; Patron; $250; Benefactor $350.
