The Greater Manchester Young Republicans will hold a fundraiser Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Richard’s Bistro at 36 Lowell St. Manchester, with Republican presidential candidate John Cox as the featured speaker. The event will begin at 6 p.m., and will cost $25. Event sponsorships are available for $100. All funds raised will benefit the Greater Manchester Young Republicans.
Cox is the first candidate to announce his bid for the Republican nomination for president in 2008. He is making his sixth trip to New Hampshire since entering the race in March. In August, he signed a pledge to support New Hampshire’s First-in-The-Nation primary.
Greater Manchester Young Republican Chairman David Hurst said he’s honored to have Cox speak to the group.
"John Cox clearly understands that as a candidate for President he cannot hide out in television and radio studios relying strictly on a media campaign to win the support of the American people," he said. "Cox understands that successful political races are still about meeting and understanding the people. New Hampshire is still the place where the future leaders of the free world have to come to answer questions from real people about real issues. We are eager to give candidates a chance to be heard, while giving potential voters the chance to ask about the issues that are important to them."
