New Hampshire Liberty Alliance to host mock town meeting in Deerfield, NH

New Hampshire Liberty Alliance Political Action Director Don Gorman will offer an opportunity to the public to observe and participate in a traditional Town Meeting. Along with the help of Ed Naile of the Coalition of New Hampshire Taxpayers and friends, they will offer up an educational and entertaining seminar on this increasingly rare form of local government.

Participants can expect to learn the basic components of a Town Meeting and how it is run, as well as a thorough explanation of the differences between the Town Meeting vs SB2 form of town government.

In addition to the basics, Mr. Gorman and Mr. Naile have planned an exciting afternoon of skulduggery.

Such devious practices as challenging the Moderator, warrant articles that have been changed, warrant articles that are left in a drawer and not brought forward, petitions from the floor, secret ballots and so on, shall be explored.

This seminar will prove essential in helping people living in non-SB2 towns to feel confident and comfortable participating effectively in this most basic, yet all too often intimidating form of democratic government.

The event will be held on January 27^th , 2007 at the Historic Deerfield Town Hall on 10 Old Centre Road in Deerfield, NH.

Festivities will begin at 12:00 pm sharp.

There is a nominal $5.00 fee to cover the expense of renting the hall.
