2008 Presidential Candidate Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D, OH) will make his first 2007 tour of NH and ME on the weekend of February 2-4, with a dozen stops between Portland, ME and Manchester, NH over the three day period. Kucinich, recently appointed to the newly formed House subcommittee focusing on Federal Communications Commission issues is well known for his outspoken opposition to the Iraq war. Kucinich has a growing base of followers, as an increasing number of Americans seek an end to that war, evidenced by the November 2006 election results.
In January Kucinich offered a twelve point plan for removing American forces from Iraq and reestablishing stability there. In addition to seeking an end to the war, Kucinich has listed his top ten priorities as: Universal Health Care; Jobs and Withdrawal from NAFTA and WTO; Repeal of the PATRIOT Act; Guaranteed Quality Education, Pre-K Through College; Full Social Security Benefits at Age 65; Right-to-Choose, Privacy, and Civil Rights; Balance Between Workers and Corporations; Environmental Renewal and Clean Energy; Restored Rural Communities and Family Farms.
