MassResistence - Romney Unconstitutionally Began "Same-Sex Marriage" vs. advice of Hewitt, Schlafly, Buchanan et al

Back in 2003 the conservative movement said to Gov. Mitt Romney:

Ignore & defy the same-sex “marriage” ruling in Massachusetts!

But Romney did just the opposite.

In November 2003, just a few days after the unconstitutional “homosexual marriage” ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Court, Hugh Hewitt, columnist and talk show host, wrote a column in The Weekly Standard. Hewitt called on then-Governor Mitt Romney (and the Mass.Legislature) to ignore the illegitimate Court ruling. Hewitt knew then it was unconstitutional … but now ignores the fact that Romney violated our Constitution and single-handedly implemented “homosexual marriage” in Massachusetts!

Why are Hewitt, other pundits, and prominent media now ignoring this explosive fact: Romney had NO LAW to enforce (and our Legislature still hasn’t changed our marriage laws to allow “homosexual marriage”)! Phyllis Schlafly, Pat Buchanan, Professor Hadley Arkes, and Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel also agreed in late 2003/early 2004 that there was NO LAW mandating “homosexual marriage”. Romney should not have issued the orders to his executive departments that started the “marriages”.

The Constitutional principles haven’t changed. But for some reason, the pundits have fallen silent on Romney’s flagrant violation of the rule of law.

Mitt Romney failed to uphold his oath to protect our Mass.Constitution. Can he be trusted with the United States Constitution?
