Shea-Porter Questions "freedom and liberty" as American Values Worth Fighting For

CONCORD:  U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter sent her own special Valentine to our soldiers and those who want to kill them last night when, on the floor of the House of Representatives, she questioned whether "freedom and liberty" are ideals the United States should stand for.

"What is this talk I have heard tonight about freedom and liberty?" said Shea-Porter in her most recent statement undermining our troops serving in harm's way.

"If the United States stands for one thing around the world, it is freedom," said Fergus Cullen, chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party. "Freedom is the core American value. Generations of Americans have sacrificed to bring the gift of freedom to strangers in foreign lands and to liberate oppressed peoples. Spreading freedom and liberty has been our most important contribution to the global community. It is outrageous that a member of Congress would scoff at freedom and liberty as American values worth fighting for," Cullen said.
