SEN. JOE BIDEN POSTPONES DOVER, DURHAM VISITS DUE TO IRAQ VOTE

DOVER – Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware has postponed his scheduled visit to Strafford County next week due to scheduled Senate votes on Iraq policy. Biden, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, had been scheduled to take part in public forums at the University of New Hampshire and the Dover Public Library on Monday, Feb. 5.

“We’re disappointed Sen. Biden will be unable to visit Monday,” said Strafford County Democratic Committee chair Joan Ashwell. “We will be rescheduling his visit in the near future.”

“The Senate Monday will be addressing our policy in Iraq,” Ashwell added, “and there is no more significant issue facing the nation today. Clearly, the people’s business is most important.”
