Manchester Dems Announce Support
MANCHESTER – Manchester Democrats rallied behind David Scannell, Wednesday, following his primary victory in the special election for State Representative in Ward 2.
Ward 2 Democrat David Scannell secured his place on the ballot for the general election on May 29 receiving 92% of the vote in Tuesday’s Democratic < Primary.
“I’m looking forward to this campaign,” said Scannell. “There are so many pressing issues facing our community, I hope that the voters of Ward 2 will give me the opportunity to do my part in finding solutions. My work with the Manchester School Department has shown me just how important school funding is to providing our children with the education they need to thrive in the real world. I believe we need to fix school funding once and for all by working with Governor Lynch to pass his education amendment.”
Scannell added: “Education must always be a top priority of the New Hampshire legislature. As a member of the House, I will always fight for Manchester's fair share of education aid, and will do so without supporting a sales or an income tax.”
Manchester City Democrats executive director Joe Scully commented, “We have a great candidate in David Scannell. He has demonstrated that he takes this race and the issues impacting our community very seriously. Dave has been a dedicated servant to Manchester’s schools and he will make a great representative for the people of Ward 2.”
David Scannell has served for three years as Safe Schools Coordinator for the Manchester School District. He was formerly the Assistant to the Mayor of Manchester for Legislative Affairs. Scannell graduated from Colby College and received his law degree from the University of Maine. Scannell is a Manchester native and a graduate of Manchester's Central High School.
