DOVER – Rep. Carol Shea-Porter and 2008 U.S. Senate candidates Steve Marchand and Katrina Swett will be among the guests at the Strafford County Democratic Committee’s annual Summer Picnic this Sun., Sept. 9 from 1 to p.m. at the home of Salme and Ken Perry, 380 Rollins Rd. in Rollinsford.
Representatives from all the Democratic candidates in the first-in-the nation presidential primary will also be on hand as elected officials, candidates and Democrats of all ages mix and mingle as they enjoy traditional picnic fare, musical entertainment, fun, games and swimming. A certified lifeguard will be on duty.
“With the presidential primary only months away, political excitement is building,” Strafford County Democratic Committee chair Joan Ashwell said, “New Hampshire is all about grass roots politics, and our picnic is a great opportunity for candidates and people interested in politics to meet one another and talk about campaigns and issues in a family-friendly social setting.”
Tickets are $10 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free. A limited number of benefactor tickets are available for $25. For more information or to reserve tickets, contact Joan Ashwell at (603) 868-3775 or firstname.lastname@example.org
