MANCHESTER, NH – With less than a week left until the New Hampshire Primary, State Representative Jim Ryan, former chair of Senator Biden’s New Hampshire campaign, today announced his endorsement of Hillary for President. The announcement comes as Senator Clinton, President Clinton and other campaign supporters set out to criss-cross the Granite State over the next four days.
“At this critical time, when our country is so desperate for change, it is essential that we elect a strong and experienced leader, like Hillary Clinton, who can hit the ground running on day one,” said Representative Ryan of Franklin. “Hillary’s strength and character can be seen not only in what she has done for our country, but in the people – like Governor Tom Vilsack and General Wesley Clark – who have chosen to stand with her.”
Representative Ryan, who teaches political science at both New England College and Keene State College, has been a key player in New Hampshire Democratic Party politics. He has served as Grassroots Chair of the New Hampshire Democratic State Committee since 2002 and has led the Committee to Elect House Democrats since 2004. During the 2006 elections, he was instrumental in helping the New Hampshire Democratic Party regain control of the House of Representatives for the first time in over a century.
Rep. Ryan serves as Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and also chaired the party platform committee.
“I am honored to have the support of Representative Ryan who has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to serving the people of New Hampshire,” said Senator Clinton. “With just four days left until the primary, I will look to him to reach out to his friends and neighbors and remind them that it is time for New Hampshire to pick a president who can make real change happen.”
