Lebanon, NH - Former Astronaut Jay Buckey, who is running for the US Senate in New Hampshire in 2008, will be visiting polling places to meet volunteers and voters in the North Country on Tuesday, the day of the NH Presidential Primary. He will visit towns such as Littleton, Berlin, and Gorham before visiting polling places in Carroll and Belknap counties. He will end the day in the Manchester and Nashua participating in primary-night events.
Dr. Buckey's U.S. Senate primary will be held September 9, 2008.
Jay Buckey, M.D. is a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate from New Hampshire. He flew as a payload specialist astronaut on the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1998, and he also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for eight years. He is currently a professor of medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and an adjunct professor of engineering at the Thayer School. He and his family live in Hanover, NH.
