DOVER – Local Democrats will be collecting non-perishable food items for Strafford County food banks at the annual Strafford County Democratic Victory Dinner this Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Great Bay Gallery, 25 Willand Rd. in Somersworth.
“Democrats throughout Strafford County are working hard to elect our candidates, because Democrats understand working people are feeling economic pressure after eight years of the George Bush administration,” Strafford County Democratic chair Caitlin Daniuk said.
“We’ll collect canned goods and other non-perishable food Friday to help Strafford County residents who are paying the price for failed Republican policies,” Daniuk said. “We’ll also be distributing information on services for hard-pressed working people and how we can all help or neighbors.”
Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota will be the keynote speaker at the Victory Dinner. Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, New Hampshire Democratic Party chair Raymond Buckley will also be featured speakers. Candidates for county and state offices in the Nov. 4 election will also be on hand to greet supporters.
Tickets for Friday’s Victory Dinner are $40 and may be purchased on line at http://www.actblue.com/page/victorydinner2008 or reserved at the Strafford County Coordinated Campaign offices at 11 Chestnut St. in Dover, 65 Green St. in Somersworth or 50 N.
