Another New Hampshire Publication Supporting Obama's Campaign for Change
MANCHESTER - Barack Obama received the endorsement of The Merrimack Journal Publicantions today noting that, "Barack Obama is the best choice for president of the United States." The Merrimack Journal is the fourth New Hampshire publication to endorse Senator Obama in the last week.
The endorsement highlighted Obama's "reasonable, responsible set of proposals to deal with the problems facing this nation. He offers the most coherent, long-term set of ideas for moving the country forward on energy policy, health care and national security.
"Obama does not see government as a hovering parent meddling in people's daily lives, nor does he see government as an enemy of the people that should keep its distance. Instead, Obama views the role of government as one of honest broker, an old-fashioned beat cop who's there to maintain order and keep the bullies and thugs (and investment bankers) from preying on the rest of the neighborhood.
"Despite repeated attacks on his character, Obama has attempted to take the high road during this campaign, or at least not stray too far into the mud.
"There's much more to Obama than a message of change and an inspiring speaking style, but those things won't hurt as he attempts to unite the country after decades of increasingly bitter political polarization.
"...his approach to leadership - a track record of bringing people of different ideologies together and looking for common ground - is the best way forward."
The Merrimack Journal serves Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Groton, North Chelmsford, Littleton, Pepperell, Tyngsboro, West Groton, Westford, Windam, Pelham, and select areas of Hudson, New Hampshire.
