Friends of Ray Burton Committee, Announce They Raised Over $42,500.00 in Support of Councilor Burton’s Re-Election Campaign

Meredith, NH- Last night, Barbara Ashley, Fiscal Agent for the Friends of Ray Burton Committee, announced that the committee had raised over $42,500.00 in support of Councilor Burton’s re-election campaign at a fundraiser in Meredith, New Hampshire. The event was held at the Church Landing Resort and was attended by approximately 105 family, friends, and supporters.

“Rural Areas of New Hampshire need strong advocates and I intend to be an advocate from the 98 Towns, Four Cities, Lebanon, Claremont, Berlin and Laconia and the Five counties of Carroll, Coos, Belknap, Sullivan and Grafton,” Burton stated. “As long as I’m around, this area is going to be effectively represented on the Five Member Executive Council.”

Burton, a Republican, who lives in Bath and has proudly served in state government since 1977, spoke about his experiences traveling through District 1 and the need, now more than ever, for a Councilor that is approachable and responsive to the constituents of Northern New Hampshire. Former New Hampshire Congressman Bill Zeliff emceed the event and introduced Councilor Burton as a close friend and an abiding steward for the people of District 1.

“For over 30 years, Ray has made it his top priority to ensure that the North Country and our interests are well represented when the issues of the day are decided in Concord,” said Zeliff. “Ray has prided himself on making sure that his office offers the highest level of constituent service, no matter the request, and tonight we honor and thank him.”

The Councilor announced his candidacy for re-election on February 2 at the Colebrook Country Club and has planned 14 Local/Area Campaign Kick-Off Events in Coos, Carroll, Belknap, Grafton and Sullivan Counties. Local Kick offs are scheduled in Charlestown, Newport, Lebanon, Laconia, Meredith, Wolfeboro, Ossipee, Bartlett, Plymouth, Woodsville, Lancaster, Littleton, North Woodstock and Berlin.
