Statement from Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta on the passing of N.H. House Minority Leader Michael Whalley

MANCHESTER (March 2, 2008) – “This morning, I was saddened to hear about the passing of House Minority Leader Michael Whalley. I want to pay my sincerest condolences to Mike’s family and friends at this most difficult time.

“I was honored to serve with Mike in the Legislature for three-plus years and I can say that he served the people of New Hampshire with both honor and distinction. He was respected on both sides of the aisle for his understanding of issues, as well as his concern for the well-being of his fellow legislators and the people of New Hampshire.

“Beyond his role as Minority Leader, he was also a small business owner, husband and father of two children, so his loss in especially devastating. I will have Mike and his family in my prayers.”
