(Concord, N.H.) New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn announced that Daniel T. Tanguay , 34, has been selected as the Education Director for the Corrections Special School District/Granite State High School. He began his new duties on February 29, 2008
Prior to coming to the Department Director Tanguay was Nashua High School Freshman Academy Headmaster. He previously taught at Granite State High School from 2000-2002. Director Tanguay holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration, a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership, holds certification as a Public School Administrator, and a high school Mathematics teacher.
“Obtaining a good education is an important piece for successful offender re-entry into the community. Director Tanguay has a wealth of public school administration experience and knowledge of the corrections environment and will be an asset to the Department,” Commissioner Wrenn said.
Last year, 557 offenders participated in 68 different high school courses offered during 44 weeks of educational programs in the prison. Thirteen males and two females received their high school diplomas.
