Manchester Ward 6 Alderman Real Pinard Announces Rockingham Trail Clean-up; Volunteers Sought

MANCHESTER ( April 17, 2008 ) – Ward 6 Alderman Real Pinard, along with the New Hampshire Conservation Corps, and in partnership with the Manchester Parks, Recreation, and Cemetery Dept., will be working on a section of Rockingham Rail Trail. The event will start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at the home of Alderman Pinard, 294 Brennan St., Manchester. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

The participants will be removing brush that has grown onto the trail surface, and hauling out trash that has collected over time. Eventually, this section of trail will be linked with existing Rail Trails in Manchester.

The project is expected to take about two hours. Afterwards, participants will head over to Veteran's Park for the 4th Annual Manchester Earth Day Celebration.

The volunteers that day will include SCA NHCC members and members of the Manchester Conservation Leadership Corps. Mayor Frank Guinta will be a part of the opening event.

“This is an important project for the quality-of-life of our residents in Ward 6, citywide and statewide,” Alderman Pinard said. “I encourage people to be a part of this incredible program. “Please give me a call at 622-1584 if you have any questions.”
