Clegg For Congress - Clegg Fields Rock N’ Race Team to Benefit Cancer Center

Team Raising Funds for 5k Road Race!

Concord, NH – Tomorrow, the Statehouse lawn will be full of runners gearing up to have some healthy fun and raise money for a great cause and Clegg’s team will be with them!

“Senator Clegg came to us and asked us to join a team for a great cause, so we said yes. Then we found out we were running a 5k! But, he told us the many great things Concord Hospitals Center for Cancer Care had done and how’d he wanted to help, so we tied on our sneakers and started training.” Said Chris Herr, team member and Clegg For Congress Campaign Manager.

The 5k raises funds for the Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer. This is the sixth year the Hospital has held the event, which will bring runners through downtown and into the West End of Concord.

“I am so proud of the great job this team has done raising money for this important organization. It’s always nice when you can have fun and know that you’re also doing some good,” said Clegg.

The festivities kick off on the Statehouse Lawn at 6:00pm with live music and refreshments.

About the Payson Center for Cancer Care:

The Payson Center for Cancer Care is treating more patients than expected and continues to meet the ever-growing need for cancer care. Each year funding is provided for many cancer-related programs and services including treatment for uninsured or underinsured patients; cancer support groups and education; financial and nutrition counseling, health screenings and free transportation to and from cancer treatment. Over the past four years, this event has raised over half a million dollars for Payson Center patients.

Proceeds from the sixth annual Ocean Bank & Hutter Construction Rock 'N Race will support the Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care once again. When you sponsor a fundraising page for the 2008 Ocean National Rock 'N Race, you are helping ensure people with cancer and their families are receiving access to virtually all the medical care treatment options and support services they need at the Payson Center.
