MANCHESTER (July 14, 2008) – “Today, the Manchester Police Department officially swore in 11 new officers, raising the city’s police complement to 224. This is the highest number of police officers in the city’s history and one away from the goal of 225 I have numerously stated. I am proud of today’s ceremony, and I am sure that the 11 sworn in today will be a welcome addition to the Manchester Police Department.
“I want to thank the leadership of Chief David Mara, former Chief John Jaskolka and the training staff of the MPD for vetting one of the largest classes in the department’s history. This is no small feat, but the effort is well worth it and Manchester residents will be safer for it,” Guinta said.
