Office of Congresswoman Shea-Porter - Shea-Porter Statement on Bush Medicare Veto

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Shea-Porter today released the following statement regarding President Bush vetoing the Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act of 2008.

“It is shameful that President Bush is putting the interests of the insurance companies ahead of our nation’s seniors and veterans,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “This bi-partisan legislation will help ensure senior citizens can continue to receive care from the doctors they trust.  I look forward to working with my House colleagues to override this veto.”
