Concord, NH - More than 100 youth will gather this Thursday, August 14 for the 4th Annual Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Teen Conference. The daylong conference is designed for youth ages 14 - 21.
There will be a number of workshops geared toward providing these youth with helpful information on topics such as the college admissions process, buying a car, eating right when money is tight, and identity theft.
There will also be an opportunity for youth to network, and learn about resources to assist them as they transition from out-of-home foster placement to independent adult living. New Hampshire’s Health and Human Services (DHHS) Commissioner Nicholas Toumpas and DCYF Director Maggie Bishop will speak at the Conference.
The keynote address will be given by a youth who was formerly in foster care.
The conference begins at 8:30 AM at the LP Young Student Center at Keene State College in Keene.
